I love this take on values! It makes me want to think of my own core values and how I can better define them so that decisions big and small are easier to make.

As for company values I've come across, my husband recently interviewed at a company where humility is one of their core values. I kind of love that. Not sure how it plays out in the day to day though!

Humility is a lovely one!

I totally agree, it’s much easier to make daily decisions if you’ve already landed on your values (explicitly or just in your head). Otherwise each individual decision can be exhausting!

Coming from corporate with horrible values (they had values they were just useless as you mentioned) this was such a refreshing and a powerful read! Wooow!

I have always wondered. Why does a company have integrity as a value?? I mean isn't it basic? Human? Do you NEED to specify it out? How's it even making you different?

Love love love the shower value haha!

I'm so happy it resonated with you, Shruthi!!

And as for the shower value, after reading the post my friend just told me that Aaron Sorkin found he had so many ideas in the shower, he got a shower installed in his office and took between 6 to 8 showers a day! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pN9kEEO8KJA

Dear Bree,

"You can’t choose “craft” AND “speed” unless you also want to make “burnout” one of your values."

Brilliant.
